Growing up Bass Player
(Sundown)
Lynyrd Skynyrd
“Sundown” was on the road again, better
than ever. The new members of the band, Kenny and Bob,
only made us, I always thought of Ken and I as the core
of the band, stronger and better. We revamped our entire song list, threw out most of
the country and concentrated strictly on Rock and
Roll.
This is the first verse and the chorus of
the song Sundown (our namesake).
I can see her lyin' back in her satin
dress
In a room where you do what you don't
confess
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin round my back stairs
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin round my back stairs

My Ding-A-Ling by Chuck Berry
We were doing what we like to do best,
playing music and having fun.
The best thing was, though we didn’t know
it at the time, we were only a few months away from the
era of Lynyrd Skynyrd. At the time they were doing pretty
much what we were doing only a lot further south. Maybe
there was hope for us yet. Well…………..more on that
later.
The band (Lynyrd Skynrd), originally
called "My Backyard," was formed in, Florida in 1964.
Their first album, released in 1973, produce such great
as,” I Ain't The One”, “Free Bird”, “Simple Man”, good
example of a drummer and bass player working together,
and my personal favorite, “Gimmie Three Steps”. Their
second album, released in 1974 featured their most
popular single “Sweet Home Alabama”.
